Dear Bucks County Roadrunners:
The BCRR board has been inundated with messages regarding the possible postponement or cancellation of the BCRR Winter Series party. Given the recent changes in government recommendations and progression of the Corona virus we regretfully inform you we have determined it would be in the clubs and the public’s best interest to postpone the Winter Series party scheduled for this Saturday March 14, 2020.
Although the virus is just starting to affect this area the Corona Virus situation is changing rapidly and the virus is spreading exponentially. We really don’t know what things will look like in a few days. It is incumbent on us to do our part to help stop the spread and a room packed full of runners (many over the age of 60) sharing drinks and food is not recommended.
You all are watching and reading the news and obviously it’s a little nuts.
Montgomery county is on lockdown and by Saturday Bucks county might be as well. The NBA, NHL and MLB as well as March Madness have all been suspended until further notice. Just about every race in the area has been cancelled or postponed. It is important we follow recommendations and just as important that we don’t panic.
Our hearts go out to everyone affected by this very serious event, not the least of which those in club who have spent countless hours training and preparing for events only to have them cancelled or postponed.
We will be posting details about possibly rescheduling the party and making sure everyone gets their award. Rest assured refunds will be made available should we not be able to accommodate a mutually satisfactory date to hold the event.
We will be notifying the award winners Shortly to arrange for them to receive their awards.
Above all we ask each and every club member to be diligent regarding following any and all recommendations to slow and stop the spread of this very serious virus.
Thank you all for your concern and your anticipated cooperation.
Johnny King-Marino
BCRR President
